Bowen Technique is a gentle, non-invasive, hands on fascial release therapy – effective and relaxing, suitable for all ages and presenting conditions.
Bowen Technique uses specific hands-on movements which are very distinctive and which are used on precise points on the body. It involves moving the soft tissue in a particular way using a rolling type movement using the fingers, hands and/or elbow, depending on the area being worked on. It creates focus for the brain by stimulating the nerve pathways and tissue. The movement uses the slack of the skin to move the tissue underneath. Each movement will only cover a small area at a time.
Short breaks are included between movements, or sets of movements; the principle of resting the body for a couple of minutes is vital as it starts the process of repair and gives the body opportunity to formulate a neurological response from the brain, prompting it to make changes accordingly within the body.
Bowen Technique can help with:
- Sciatica and back problems
- Hayfever and asthma
- Sports injuries
- Infant colic, pre- and post-pregancy care
- Frozen shoulder and tennis elbow
- Chronic fatigue
- and many other conditions
The first session will include a case history, assessment and therapy, rapidly getting you on the road to recovery. Two to three therapy sessions are recommended for assessment and treatment, with a follow-up one month later for review.

Specialising in Bowen Facial Release Technique and Usui Japanese Reiki, in its original form, Lucy works to rebalance you; releasing injury, ill health and trauma held within your body. All consultations and treatments cover both the physical and the emotional self; both Bowen Technique (a remedial, hands-on therapy) and Reiki (an energetic healing technique) work holistically, together with body and mind to heal and recover the whole person. These gentle, effective treatments are non-invasive, relaxing and restorative.
